5 rules of care for clothes made of wool
The peculiarity of woolen products is that wool is a natural material and it is necessary to take care of it as if it were its own hair. Care for clothes made of wool involves 5 rules.
Wash
Wash clothing from natural wool in cold water with gentle means that do not contain alkaline components, preferably with hands. If you have a good washing machine in which there is a mode for wool, you can wash it in a mesh bag at a temperature of 30C. Do not unscrew a wet product, it should be squeezed out slightly and put on a horizontal place, covered with a terry towel. Washing woolen things in hot water will cause it to shrink to several sizes.
If it so happens that you have spoiled your clothes with hot water, you can restore the original look with a balm for your hair. Pour a little basin balm with warm water, dissolve it and wash the product. After a good rinse with clean water. Do not be frightened by the feeling of slipperiness on clothes, it will disappear after full drying.
Ironing
For ironing wares from wool, use steam and do not touch the iron surface of the fabric. If you do not have ironing functions in the iron, iron the thing through a wet, thin fabric, without stretching it, but pressing it lightly.
Drying
Dry things out of the wool on a horizontal surface in the unfolded form. Do not stretch the product while it is wet - so you will turn the blouse into a dress.
Do not stretch the product on cushions or rollers, it deforms. To absorb the excess moisture, a terry towel, laid on the couch, is suitable. Do not dry things out of the wool on the heaters and batteries.
Storage
Keep woolen clothes in a folded clean condition in a closet or box. Do not hang sweaters made of wool on hangers. To the clothes of wool is not wound up a mole, overlay it with fabric bags with lavender or chestnuts.
Getting rid of spools
Over time, on woolen garments there appear trunks that spoil the appearance. There are 3 ways to get rid of them:
- The razor . Take a disposable razor and light movements without pressing "shave" the spools. The method is not suitable for products made of angora and fluffy knitwear. The razor should not be new or too dull. Do not press hard - you can cut the fibers and make holes.
- The hairbrush . Take a plastic comb with frequent prongs. Comb the cloth from the top down. The method is suitable for clothes made of angora and fluffy wool.
- The machine for cutting the spools . This is the simplest option. A single purchase of a machine will facilitate the care of woolen things for many years.
